Bimetallic Thermostatic Steam Trap
UKL the
Bi-Thermostatic Bimetallic steam traps, consists of an independent seat and cone valve, and an
external adjustment device that can be used while the trap is functioning, for
temperature and flow discharge. The trap also has an integral Y type Strainer.
The bimetallic
steam traps consists of two antagonistic [Opposing] thermostats.
The Upper thermostat
consists of pair of bimetallic plates guided by the plug’s stem, and the Lower
thermostat is formed by one bimetallic sheet that leans and is guided on its
edges by the body of the steam trap.
When the
temperature starts to rise, the Upper thermostat expands, pressing the plug in
the closing direction; at the same time, the lower thermostat arches itself
allowing the movement of the valve in the same direction leading to progressive
closure of the valve. When the condensate temperature decreases the thermostats
act inversely, thereby opening the valve adding pressure balancing feature.
